What Myth Cards are
Myth Cards are Mintayn’s set-bound Secret Cards. They are designed to feel hidden, rare and meaningful. A Myth Card belongs to a specific set, but it is numbered above the normal set size.
Why Myth Cards exist
Myth Cards give Mintayn a hidden layer. They can reward attention, community discovery, special events, lore exploration or secret Codex interactions. They are not just “more cards”; they are a way to make the set feel alive.
How Myth Cards are tied to sets
Every Myth Card should belong to a defined set. This keeps collection logic clean and prevents secret cards from floating outside the archive. For example, if Base Set has 150 regular cards, Myth Cards can be attached as 151/150, 152/150 and so on.
Possible unlock paths
Codex codes
Hidden phrases, number patterns or lore clues can reveal a Myth Card entry.
Community puzzles
Players and collectors can solve shared riddles to unlock a secret reveal.
Events
Physical or digital events can reveal special Myth Cards connected to a moment.
Gallery discoveries
The Card Database can later support hidden states, reveal conditions or set archive markers.
Collector value without balance damage
Myth Cards should be exciting because of their identity, scarcity, artwork, lore or unlock story. They should not create a pay-to-win structure. If a Myth Card is playable, it still needs to fit the same balance philosophy as other cards.
Database requirements
- Myth Cards need a visible set connection.
- They need numbering above the regular set size, such as 151/150.
- They should have a clear rarity marker in the Gallery and archive.
- They should remain searchable after being revealed.
- They should not be counted as part of the regular set baseline.
