Mintayn is built as a hybrid-first game. Cards exist simultaneously as NFTs (digital), as physical prints (via Print-on-Demand), and as proxies (community-generated). This layered approach is not a compromise, but a deliberate design philosophy: maximizing accessibility, fostering social interaction, and preparing for future innovation.

Physical Play

  • Print-on-Demand: NFT holders can order official physical cards, each embedded with a QR code linking to the live database. This avoids mass production waste while ensuring authenticity.
  • Proxy-Friendly: Players are explicitly encouraged to use self-made proxies for casual or even tournament play, provided NFT ownership is verifiable. This keeps entry costs low and fosters inclusivity.
  • Collectibility: Official prints remain prestige items, with foils, serialized editions, and premium treatments reinforcing collector’s value.

Digital Play – Phase One

  • Videochat Matches: At launch, digital play is facilitated through video platforms and community hubs. This ensures:
    • Human-Centric Interaction – players face each other directly.
    • Bot Resistance – no automation, preventing AI or bot manipulation.
    • Accessibility – anyone with a device and cards (physical or proxy) can play.

  • AR & VR: Long-term development foresees holographic duels projected in real space, AR-enhanced matches, and fully immersive VR arenas.
  • Automated Interfaces: Future platforms will streamline gameplay without replacing strategy—resonance, synergy, and timing remain player-driven.
  • Cross-Platform Access: Apps, VR environments, and community streaming will all connect back to the same blockchain-secured cards.

Verification via NFTs & Wallet Connect

Before every official match—whether physical, proxy, or digital—Mintayn requires a verification process:

  • Deck Validation: Through the Deckbuilder, players connect their Cardano wallet via Wallet Connect.
  • Ownership Check: The system verifies that every card included in the deck corresponds to an NFT owned by the player.
  • Proxy Support: Even if players use self-printed proxies, the ownership proof ensures that these proxies are legitimate representations of real NFTs.
  • Match Integrity: Once verified, the deck is locked for the match. Organizers, referees, and opponents can confirm that all cards are authentic, eliminating the risk of counterfeit or unauthorized use.

This ensures that:

  • Collectors truly own what they play.
  • Competitive fairness is preserved across formats.
  • Inclusivity remains intact—proxies are valid, as long as they’re backed by NFTs.

Hybrid Tournaments

  • Local Meets: Community-driven events in cafés, shops, and arenas use proxies or printed cards.
  • Global Play: Matches can be played across borders via videochat or streaming platforms, with results fed into the RES ranking system.
  • Parallel Formats: Tournaments can run physically and digitally in tandem, ensuring accessibility regardless of location.
